In The Beginning
At the onset of creation, amidst the dance between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, the God of the entire universe decided to create humanity. Despite being complete in Himself, He chose to make the heavens and the earth, the creatures of sky and sea, the sun and moon, day and night, and finally, breathed life into the dirt of the earth and made man. And He saw that it was good.
As those of us who have read the creation story know, it was not good for much longer. Humanity soon fell to the lies of the enemy and the pride of desire and was cast out from the perfect garden that God had originally made home. We have been dealing with the consequences ever since. It feels as though Man has fallen further and further from his original purpose with every generation.
But our original calling has not changed. Just as God created, we have been designed to create. Just as He dwells within Himself as the Godhead, so were we created to dwell in Him.
This calling is reiterated through the man of Jesus Christ. God so desired for us to dwell with Him, to worship Him as we were designed, that He provided the perfect example of son-ship in Jesus. And the perfect sacrifice needed to return us to our son-ship. Oh, that we would learn to be like Jesus. That we would be an echo of Him in voice, action, and Spirit, and spend our days worshiping the God of all creation.
Ultimately, that is the goal of this blog, this community: to learn to be like Jesus. It is to build of female warriors of the kingdom to look more and more like their king. It is to learn to do battle on earth with the principalities that fight against God’s children. To use our God given authority to give glory to our maker. To learn that femininity and warrior-ship are not mutually exclusive, but instead another part of our calling as women in the word.
But, more than anything, it is to have the God of creation look down on us, and be able to once again say: that it is good.
